Step 1 — White Center
- Build White Center
Pair up two white center pieces to form a 1x2 bar.
Make another white bar somewhere else, then join the two bars together to form the 2x2 white center.
Step 2 — Yellow Center
- Build Yellow Center (while preserving the white center)
Hold white on the bottom. Build a yellow center bar, then send it up using: Rw U2 Rw'
Make the second yellow bar and align it under the first to finish the 2x2 yellow center by also using: Rw U2 Rw'
Step 3 — Partial White Cross
Build 3 out of the 4 white cross pieces in their correct relative positions.
Color Scheme Order (BOGR):
Hold the white center on the left. Going clockwise around the sides, the colors must follow:
Blue → Orange → Green → Red.
- Pair and position edges
- Leave one slot open
Locate two matching white edge pieces. Place them in the left and right slice layers, join them into a double edge, and insert them into the cross while keeping your centers safe.
Complete 3 out of 4 cross pieces, leaving one slot unsolved to make pairing easier in later steps.
Step 4 — Side Centers
With White on the left and Yellow on the right, solve the 4 middle centers around the sides.
- Form 1x2 bars
- Complete the side centers
Build a 1x2 center bar of any side color and turn it so it sits vertically.
Build the remaining side centers one by one in the correct color order (BOGR), ensuring you use half-turns (Rw2, Uw2) to restore any centers you temporarily disrupt.
Step 5 — Edge Pairing
Hold your partial white cross on the bottom with the unsolved slot facing front, locate the final edge pieces, and place them in the front-left and front-right slots, then execute Pairing Case.
- Different Slices
- Same Slice
- Complete the cross
Join pieces, replace with an unsolved edge pair, and fix the centers: 2U' R U' R' 2U
Slice piece 1 towards piece 2, execute the flipping algorithm, then fix the centers: 2U' R U R' F R' F' R 2U
Insert the final solved edge into the bottom layer to finish your 4-piece White Cross.
Step 6 — Solve Like a 3x3
Turn only the outer layers (R, L, U, D, F, B) and solve the rest of the cube like a standard 3x3!
Step 7 — Fix 4x4 Parities (If Needed)
- OLL Parity
- PLL Parity
